PAS Penang has called for a Songkran event that is taking place in Batu Feringghi this weekend to be cancelled, claiming that Malaysians are offended by the
programme.
Fawwas was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that while entertainment programmes are allowed in Malaysia and by religion, they must follow the set rules and procedures.“PAS Penang is disappointed about the spreading of advertisements promoting this programme which offends Malaysia. Malaysians, who are rich in noble and Eastern values, are seemingly being challenged by this event.”
Fawwaz further warned that this Western-oriented lifestyle will result in the degradation of values in society.
