KUALA LUMPUR: A PAS MP wants stern action to be taken against those responsible for the rise of pro-LGBT groups, which was found during the Women's March held recently in front of Sogo Complex and Dataran Merdeka.
Ahmad Fadhli Shaari had questioned whether the government will introduce harsher legislation to stop the rise of such groups including the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender movement, as it goes against conservative local culture."Of course, we agree with the women empowerment agenda but there are some who have taken the opportunity to hijack and share their ideas so that the government will give a green light to LGBTs in the country.
According to a statement by the organising committee of Women’s March Malaysia, it said the march aimed to bring people together to call for gender equality, justice and an end to all forms of discrimination against women and girls. Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the march involved 150 people comprising human rights activists, university students and members of political parties.
