PETALING JAYA: PAS shares the same sentiments as Selangor's Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah when it comes to unity in the Malay community, says Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi.
"His Royal Highness has expressed concern about the division among Malays due to differences in political stance that may result in their unity in this country to continue to be weak,” said the party's Selangor commissioner.
He said this would result in the Malays losing the power to rule the country, causing them to regress and be marginalised in their own country. "In fact, what we can see now is that the Malays have split into many groups due to different political beliefs, even though basically all the political parties have the same goal, which is to uphold Islam and protect the rights and interests of the Malays,” added Sultan Sharafuddin.
