PETALING JAYA: Leaders of several political parties have received invitations to be at Istana Negara for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Tuesday (Aug 17) afternoon.

This comes after Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's resignation as prime minister and that of his Cabinet earlier on Monday .

A close aide of Ahmad Zahid's, who wished to remain anonymous, also said he had received the invitation. It is believed that party president Datuk Seri Muhkriz Mahathir will represent Pejuang at the audience with the King. Sources also said that Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun and Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim would also be at Istana Negara.
