GEORGE TOWN: Several areas in Penang have been hit by water disruptions to accommodate emergency work at treatment plants after Monday's (July 4) flash floods in Baling, Kedah.
In a statement on Wednesday , Syarikat Air Darul Aman said an estimated 171,800 households will be affected by the disruption.
"The water treatment plants in Sungai Petani, Kedah and Pinang Tunggal in Penang will halt operations due to high levels of turbidity in the raw water caused by the flash floods in Baling," it said. The disruption, which started at 11.10pm on Tuesday , would also affect districts such as Kuala Muda in Kedah, it added.
The statement said the duration would last until the condition of the raw water returned to normal and the plants resumed operations.Article type: free
