Ka Long Cheung of Hong Kong shakes hands with Filippo Macchi of Italy after winning gold medal bout.— Reuters picHONG KONG, July 30 — Hong Kong's Cheung Ka-long's win in the men's foil against Italy's Filippo Macchi 15-14 in a disputed bout has seen a barrage of insults from both sides with the Italians launching a formal complaint against the result.
A Hong Kong Pizza Hut advert on Facebook that was trending online showed pizza covered in pineapples alongside a fencer skewering a pineapple. It said customers could add pineapple toppings for free when dining at the restaurant. An IOC spokesman said the Italian appeal was a case for the federation."Judging for fencing I have not heard any complaints but there is a procedure," they said.
