LIVE: The parents of 14-year-old Valentina Orellana-Peralta are speaking publicly for the first time after their daughter was killed by a stray bullet from an LAPD officer inside a store.
The video was released Monday afternoon on the police department's YouTube page.
The family of 14-year-old Valentina Orellana-Peralta released several family photos on Monday, Dec. 27., as well as a GoFundMe account, has been created on behalf of the victim's family. The 35-minute video from the police department starts off with audio of several 911 calls made to police. In surveillance video footage, you can see the suspect, who is holding a bike and a metal object that appears to be a bike chain, walking into the store and taking the escalator to the second floor.
