Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the city government was awarded the “Green Banner Seal of Compliance” for effective programs on nutrition for the second consecutive year.

The mayor said, aside from the highest award, the city also received five special and citation awards -- best LGU in the Implementation of Philippine Integrated Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition, Best LGU in the Implementation of the Dietary Supplementation Program, Implementation of Infant and Young Child Feeding Program; Special Citation in the Implementation of Nutrition in Emergencies; and Most Innovative LGU in Nutrition Program Implementation.
Mrs. Olivarez was with City Nutrition Services Division head Dr. Mercy Narag-Bunnao, Acting Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Himmler Cos, and nutrition-dietititan Jun Kerbell Reforma during the event. He said the award will also serve as an inspiration to the city government to continue their advocacy in making every resident healthy by promoting the consumption of nutritious food.
