El Gobierno de Paraguay informó el miércoles que envió 40 camiones con más de 300 toneladas de ayuda humanitaria —que incluyen colchones, artículos de higiene y productos no perecederos— para los afectados por las inundaciones en el sur de Brasil. “Desde Paraguay, enviamos todo nuestro apoyo y fuerza a los hermanos brasileros. Juntos, superaremos esta situación con solidaridad y unidad”, dijo en un comunicado el presidente paraguayo, Santiago Peña.
Se trata de la primera ayuda humanitaria oficial brindada por el gobierno de Paraguay a Brasil —que registra más 2,3 millones de afectados por las inundaciones, aunque anteriormente Paraguay ya había enviado bomberos para apoyar en las tareas de rescate y asistencia a las poblaciones afectadas.
