MADRID, Spain (Reuters) -Carlos Alcaraz's hopes of becoming the first player to win three-straight Madrid Open titles came undone as the second seed fell to a 4-6 6-3 6-2 loss in front of his home crowd to Russian seventh seed Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
PETALING JAYA: Blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, also known as Papagomo, has been remanded for two days.He said Papagomo was brought before the Dang Wangi remand court at around 9.30am yesterday.
“While the investigating officer had asked for a four-day remand to complete investigations, the defence had objected. After hearing both sides, the magistrate set the remand period at two days until May 2,” he said.The political activist was earlier detained for allegedly insulting His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.
In a video, Papagomo allegedly questioned Sultan Ibrahim’s action in meeting the owner of KK Super Mart following the socks issue. In the same video, he alleged that Sultan Ibrahim had given instructions that political activist Chegubard, whose real name is Badrul Hisham Shaharin, 45, be charged under the Sedition Act.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain earlier said Papagomo was arrested by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department’s Special Investigation Unit on Tuesday.
