The Vegas Golden Knights can secure their first Stanley Cup on home ice, and they'll keep leaning on their stars once again. Our NHL betting picks detail why one such star can be counted on to score.
Along with Marchessault likely finding the back of the net again, we can probably expect Vegas to break the ice in Game 5. The Golden Knights have scored first in three of four games in this series, going on to win each of those contests.. They're averaging a lowly 2.25 goals per game, scoring more than two goals in only Game 3, their lone victory of the series.
The Panthers should come out flying with their postseason on the line. But the Golden Knights dominated both meetings on home ice, winning by a combined score of 12-4 through Games 1 and 2. Vegas has simply been the better team so far and should be able to cash this same-game parlay.
One key factor that’s differentiated the teams in this series has been the play of the stars. We’ve talked about Marchessault, who leads all skaters in goals and points . But Vegas is also getting plenty of production from Mark Stone , Jack Eichel , and Stephenson . At the other end of the rink, Matthew Tkachuk has been held to just two goals and an assist while not looking like himself since taking a big hit in Game 3. Captain Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe have also been nonfactors for the most part with just two points apiece.
The total for Game 5 opened at 6 goals, and I like the Over in this one. The Over has cashed in six of the last seven meetings between the teams in Vegas while going 2-0 this series at T-Mobile Arena. The Over is also 5-1 during Vegas’ last six home games and 4-2 in the Golden Knights’ previous six contests overall.A) New users at FanDuel can get a
