NSTsports Pandelela-Mun Yee win silver medal at World Series
The Malaysian duo, who won silver at the World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, last July, finished second in the World Series with a superb score of 297.66 in the women’s 10m platform synchro at the Olympic Park Sports Centre.
Home favourites Meaghan Benfeito-Caeli McKay grabbed the gold for Canada after big scores in the fourth and fifth dives for a total of 313.02, while Russian pair Iuliia Timoshinina-Ekaterina Beliaeva finished third with 288.30. Pandelela-Mun Yee led the field after three dives. Benfeito-McKay however rose to the occasion as they scored 73.26 and 76.80 in the fourth and fifth dives to eventually grab the lead and finish with the gold.
For Mun Yee, it was her first silver medal at the World Series in five years since combining with Cheong Jun Hoong to finish second at the Beijing and London legs in 2015.Related stories
