Palm oil to be part of ECRL deal with China
Malaysia’s palm oil industry is badly affected by the European Union’s move to ban the commodity over environmental concerns. It is now looking to China to rescue the industry. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 8, 2019.
MALAYSIA has linked the East Coast Rail Link project to China buying more palm oil and bringing in additional projects here, reportsQuoting sources, the daily said the negotiations now include a commitment from China to purchase more local palm oil from Malaysia. The country will also direct more Chinese investments into Malaysia.
