That group, an Iran-backed Shia Islamist political party and paramilitary organization that wields influence rivaling the Lebanese government, fired mortars Sunday into territory occupied by Israel. Israel responded with artillery strikes, which killed one Hezbollah member. According to reporting by Al-Jazeera, Palestinian militant forces would be unable to sustain drawn-out conflict with Israel without support from Hezbollah.
During a portion of his remarks directed at Narshallah, Gallant said “You have made mistakes in the past, you have paid very heavy prices. If an escalation or conflict develops here, we will return Lebanon to the Stone Age.
