A Pakistani man has been fined RM100 by a Magistrates' Court in Kuala Lumpur for sending offensive messages to a local man via WhatsApp. The accused, Noman Iftikhar, 44, pleaded guilty to the charge and could face a three-day jail term if he fails to pay the fine. The incident occurred on November 25 and involved sending indecent messages that insulted the victim's dignity.

KUALA LUMPUR : Seorang lelaki warga Pakistan didenda RM100 oleh Mahkamah Majistret di sini hari ini di atas pertuduhan menghantar mesej berbaur kesat kepada seorang lelaki tempatan, bulan lalu.

Majistret Illi Marisqa Khalizan membuat keputusan itu setelah tertuduh, Noman Iftikhar, 44, mengaku bersalah atas pertuduhan yang dikemukakan terhadapnya.Mengikut pertuduhan, Noman didakwa dengan sengaja mengaibkan kehormatan mangsa dengan menghantar mesej berunsur kesat dan lucah melalui aplikasi WhatsApp sehingga mengganggu kesantunan individu berkenaan.Tertuduh didakwa di bawah Seksyen 509 Kanun Keseksaan yang memperuntukkan hukuman penjara sehingga lima tahun, denda atau kedua-duanya sekali.

Timbalan Pendakwa Raya, Syafika Azwa Fikri mencadangkan hukuman maksimum RM100 wajar dikenakan terhadap tertuduh sebagai pengajaran.
