Pakistan's capital city, Islamabad, has been placed under a security curfew to prevent supporters of the imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan from holding a march to the capital. The march is part of a nationwide protest demanding the release of the former leader. Authorities have suspended mobile phone and internet services in 'security-threatened areas' and blocked highways connecting Islamabad ahead of the 'final call' protest organized by the opposition party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Most major roads in Islamabad have also been blocked by the government using shipping containers, while police and paramilitary forces equipped with riot gear are deployed to prevent the march towards Parliament.

Perkhidmatan WhatsApp juga dilaporkan sudah disekat oleh pihak berkuasa, menurut pemerhati internet global, NetBlocks.Bulan lalu, perkhidmatan telefon bimbit digantung di Islamabad dan Rawalpindi untuk menghalang perhimpunan pro-Imran, yang turut mengganggu komunikasi dan perkhidmatan harian seperti perbankan dan penghantaran makanan.
