KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's government will remain even if Pakatan Harapan and Umno stop cooperating, says Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
He said the unity government would still command a majority in Parliament if it stops cooperating with Umno, which has 26 MPs.
Mukhriz also proposed for Perikatan and Pakatan to cooperate with a confidence and supply agreement ."Of course there are differences between Pakatan and Perikatan. But, if they can put those differences aside and work for the betterment of the country I think all of us will be very happy," added the former Jerlun MP.
Anwar is one MP short of the 148 for a two-thirds majority after Muda retracted support for the unity government.
