A report claims that Apple Intelligence features that you have to pay for are at least three years away. The US$20 a month cost is unchallenged.
Last week, we saw claims of Apple Intelligence getting paid-for features, which is in and of itself not very surprising. Reports even cite analysts giving estimates as to what that would cost per month. While no one expected to need pay for these pricier features anytime soon, it might be a longer wait than compared to the competitors of the bitten fruit.
9to5Mac cites Blommberg's Mark Gurman and his weekly Power On newsletter as saying that while the the brand plans to eventually start charging for some Apple Intelligence features, it won't be anytime soon. More advanced features worth making customers pay for are expected to be developed on top of existing ones, but these are reportedly still three years away. And that 'may be the best-case scenario'.
All that being said though, it's worth noting that the specific mention of the three year wait until the premium features of Apple Intelligence was not found in the most recent edition of the newsletter, as cited in the report. So while rumours from usually credible sources should also be taken with a pinch of salt, it applies doubly so this time around.
