Dissolution of Pahang Development Agencies Impacts Traditional Villages and CultureThe dissolution of two development agencies in Pahang, Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Jengka (LKWJ) and Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Pahang Tenggara (DARA), has not only hampered the goal of creating a modern economic growth center but also negatively impacted traditional villages within their administrative areas. Datuk Dr. Aripin Said, a national figure of Orang Asli Heritage, stated that the widespread consequences have resulted in villages like Kampung Papai, Kampung Lubuk Paku, Kampung Sungai Duri, and Kampung Melayu experiencing depopulation. The disappearance of these villages has also led to the decline of traditional Malay culture, including practices like communal work, farming, livestock rearing, fishing, religious gatherings, and traditional performances.
