Brandon Dixon will be the fourth right fielder used by the Padres so far this season; Ryan Weathers will start against the Mets' David Peterson

Dixon mashed 23 homers in 51 games and slugged .823 in the high minors and went 3-for-14 with the Padres last season. He had a decent chance of winning a bench role this spring, but the Murrieta Valley High School grad hit just .191/.322/.234 in 23 Cactus League games and was optioned to Triple-A El Paso to start the season.quad strain forced him to the injured list.
Dixon, who was 6-for-20 with two homers in El Paso to start the minor league season, will bat ninth on Tuesday at Citi Field and will serve as the right fielder, the fourth one the Padres’ have trotted out so far.have each started four games in right and Dahl has started three games. If the Padres have a lead late, look for Azocar to replace Dixon defensively.
