Padres' Yu Darvish named NL pitcher of the month, preparing for next start — whenever it is — as if it's any other start
Yu Darvish has started seven postseason games in the U.S., the last in 2020 for the Cubs during the COVID-19 free-for-all. No longer needed that day, Darvish would be on six days’ rest if he indeed starts Friday. The Padres decided to push his last start back a day to make sure he wasn’t on seven days’ rest for the potential playoff opener, leading to some last-minute adjustments to his work week and studying as he switched his preparations for the White Sox instead of the Dodgers.
