“Terima kasih kerana menjawab “Ya” kepada Tuhan dan melayani domba-domba dengan tabah dan kasih sayang,” ucap Uskup Agung Simon Poh kepada Msgr William Sabang, yang menyambut ulang tahun imamatnya ke-40.
“Semoga sukacita Msgr William bertambah dan melimpah ruah semasa anda memberikan diri anda sepenuhnya untuk melayani umat Tuhan,” kata Uskup Agung Simon semasa memimpin Misa Kudus Ulang Tahun Rubi Msgr William di Chapel of Mother Mary, pada Mei 4 lalu. Msgr William ditahbis sebagai paderi pada Mei 3, 1983 di Kuching. Beliau merupakan paderi berbangsa Iban yang pertama dari Serian dan amat mesra dipanggil “Apai Will” atau “Fr Will” di kalangan umat yang dilayaninya.
Beliau memegang beberapa jawatan penting termasuk rektor untuk Katedral St Jospeh dan Seminari Tinggi Kolej Sto Petrus, Kuching. Msgr William juga merupakan chanselor, vikaris judicial dan bekerja dengan Tribunal Eklesiastikal di pejabat Keuskupan Agung. Selama empat puluh tahun ini, Msgr William telah melayani di bawah tiga orang Uskup Agung iaitu Uskup Agung Peter Chung, Uskup Agung John Ha dan kini Uskup Agung Simon Poh.Total Comments:
