PETALING JAYA: The Umno-PAS pact should have no bearing on Pakatan Harapan’s cause, say the Youth chiefs of its four component parties.
The four Youth chiefs of PKR, DAP, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and Parti Amanah Negara said the real task of the coalition should be to find the best way to serve the people.“The real focus of Pakatan Harapan is on issues like employment, quality of life for the B40 group, youth empowerment and national unity. We should also not be lackadaisical in working for a bright future for Sabah and Sarawak,” they said in a statement yesterday.
The four said Pakatan is a progressive and diverse coalition made up of people from various races, religions and backgrounds, all united under the Jalur Gemilang. “Let’s ignore the Opposition and focus on our own performance ... that is more mature politics and servicing the needs of our country,” they said.
The statement was signed by Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir , Howard Lee , Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Mohd Sany Hamzan .
