Forecasters say people should bundle up for this weekend's Padres games at Petco and the Jimmy Buffett concert at Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley
The Pacific storm that quick-stepped through San Diego County Thursday dropped impressive amounts of rain in some areas, but the region will remain unseasonably cool through at least next Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 50s Friday and Saturday night when the Padres host the Dodgers at Petco Park. It could be even chillier Saturday night when Jimmy Buffett performs at Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley. The storm hit northern parts of the county hardest. The weather service reported the following rainfall totals through 12:30 p.m.: Fallbook, 0.75 inches; Palomar Observatory, 0.66 inches; Henshaw Dam, 0.56 inches; San Onofre, 0.42 inches; Bonsall, 0.36 inches; Ramona, 0.32 inches; Valley Center, 0.30 inches; Escondido, 0.25 inches. To the south, San Diego International Airport and Chula Vista recorded only 0.07 inches. But National City got 0.18 inches.
Sea-surface temperatures are now in the 58- to 63-degree range. Surf is expected to range from 2 to 4 feet along the San Diego County coastline. The swell will arrive from the southwest.
