In wake of a deadly car-train collision in western Pa., family and friends of the 22-year-old woman killed instantly were ruing the lax warning systems at the rail crossing and mourning their loved one., a vehicle driven Jaimyn Rauchfuss collided with the train around 2:15 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 4th and Railroad streets in Monongahela, Washington County, Pa.Police said Rauchfuss attempted to cross the tracks in front of the train.
As a result, Rauchfuss’ aunt, April Pfrogner, told KDKA she believes the tragedy could have been avoided. “There are no barriers that come down, no light. Just the railroad sign with the X on it,” Pfrogner was quoted as saying.
