THE Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) offered on Sunday a P1-million reward for the immediate capture of the suspects in the killing of San Miguel, Bulacan's police chief.
Based on the initial police report, PLt. Col. Marlon Serna, along with several police officers, was responding to an alleged robbery report in Barangay San Juan, San Miguel at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night.
Upon reaching a dark portion of Barangay Bohol na Mangga, San Ildefonso, the responding team chanced upon two unidentified suspects on board an Mio motorcycle who opened fire on the policemen.Serna was hit in the head. He was rushed to the hospital but died while being treated.The PNP launched hot pursuit operations against the suspects who reportedly fled to Barangay Akle, San Ildefonso.
