TAYABAS CITY, Quezon – Quezon Rep. Mark Enverga has earmarked almost P12 million for the construction of canal lining in four barangays here.

The chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture and Food said this project was requested by farmers’ associations in Barangays Potol, Opias, Masin, and Malaoa.

Barangay Potol received P4,745,321; Barangay Opias, P2,668.648.35; Barangay Masin, P2,600,000, and Barangay Malaoa, P1,774,966.30, for a total project amount of P11,789.035. Enverga distributed P5,297,280 worth of seedlings, machinery, urea fertilizer donation from the Chinese government, organic fertilizers, and 2,789 bags of complete fertilizers to 1,657 rice farmers in Barangays Ibabang Ilasan and Baguio here.

Part of the funding for the canal lining project that seeks to increase rice production came from the national government.
