Government to introduce stricter laws based on international standards. FMTNews DUI Drunk Driving
Amendments on drink-driving laws would be tabled in Parliament in the middle of this year.
He said the government would continue with efforts to amend existing laws on drink-driving offences to reduce road crashes involving drunk drivers. “The law relating to offences for driving under the influence of alcohol has been tightened in several countries and we plan to follow international standards,” he told reporters after opening the Melaka Road Transport Department Childcare Centre yesterday.
On Oct 23, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the child seat was compulsory on all private cars starting Jan 1.
