CYBERJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has received a total of 444 complaints about the new media this year, said Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi, who described the amount as worrying, said MCMC had been planning to strengthen programmes and activities related to the spread of false information, hate speech and online scams.

Also present were Deputy Communications and Digital Minister Teo Nie Ching, Communications and Digital Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek and MCMC interim chairman Datuk Muhammad Azmi Mohd Zain.
