Langkawi OCPD Asst Comm Shariman Ashari said the Langkawi Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at around 10.35am."Rescue work is being carried out right now to bring them to safety," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Based on video footage provided, rescuers can be seen helping victims cross the water using a cable for support.Policemen are also seen helping with the rescue.Water streams down from Mount Mat Chincang and falls into seven natural pools or water wells.
