JOHOR BARU: Johor police have arrested 3,206 individuals since the movement control order (MCO) went into effect on March 18.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said this includes the 81 who were arrested on Sunday .
He added that they would also face charges under Section 22 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1998 and Rule 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2020. He also said that those caught flouting the MCO were also being investigated under Section 270 of the Penal Code for spreading a harmful infection or disease and Rule 11 of the PCID Regulations 2020.
