WAEC has commenced the release of results for its 2024 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) for school candidates.

The West African Examination Council has commenced the release of results for its 2024 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination for school candidates.A total of 1,814,736 candidates registered for the examination from 25,126 secondary schools across Nigeria.Out of the total number of candidates that sat the exam in Nigeria, 1,685,889 candidates have all their papers processed and released while 119,327 candidates have some subjects still being processed.

Amos Josiah Dangut, head of WAEC Nigeria, said the results of 215,267 candidates are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice. This, the council said, amounts to a 4.37 percent decrease from the 16.29 percent recorded in the 2023 WASSCE for school candidates.A performance analysis shows that 1,332,089 candidates obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects .

A total of 1,301,941 candidates obtained credit and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
