More than 100 bird species were successfully recorded during a recent wildlife monitoring activity organized by the Nature Ecosystem Conservation Organization (NEST) in Seberang Perai. The survey, part of the Penang Forest Bird Checklist Survey Program, involved a team of ten activists, photographers, and birdwatchers from local universities who worked together to record and update bird data in Penang. The survey identified 60 species in the Air Hitam Dalam Teaching Forest in Seberang Perai Utara (SPU) and the remaining species in the Bukit Mertajam Forest Park in Seberang Perai Tengah (SPT). The program, funded by Think City, aims to provide a checklist of forest bird species as a reference for research, development planning, and policy development, including ecotourism.
