Over 1,300 police personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety and smooth running of the Thaipusam celebrations at the Batu Caves temple in Selangor on Tuesday. Police operations will begin at 10 pm on Saturday and continue until the end of the festivities. Seven roads will also be closed from midnight on February 9th, according to the Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan. Road closures include several accesses to the temple from the MRR2 highway and other connecting roads. Alternative routes will be updated on the Gombak Police District's social media platforms.

Katanya, sebanyak tujuh jalan juga akan ditutup mengikut keadaan semasa bermula tengah malam 9 Februari. “Jalan lain termasuklah susur MRR2 dari Sri Gombak ke Susur Perusahaan, Simpang 3 Jalan Seri Batu Caves 8/ Jalan Batu Caves Lama, Simpang Tiga Lampu Isyarat SBC hadapan stesen minyak Shell dan Jalan Susur Batu Caves ByPass Menghala ke Pintu Utama Kuil Batu Caves,” katanya.
Tambah Hussein, orang ramai boleh menggunakan laluan alternatif yang akan dikemas kini di platform media sosial Polis Daerah Gombak.
