Former prime minister Paul Keating’s AUKUS comments were “out of order” and distract from a very important deal which has been years in the making, according to Opposition leader Peter Dutton.
Mr Keating slammed the Albanese government for going through with the AUKUS agreement, labelling it the “worst international decision” by a Labor government since conscription more than 100 years ago.
“I think he is just putting a voice to a very significant undercurrent within the Labor Party,” Mr Dutton told Sky News Australia.
