So why would multiple companies go out of their way to simulate it? Because as more governments and private companies take an interest in lunar missions , they all need to test their hardware here on Earth. They need to know how their landers and rovers and spacesuits are going to stand up to terrain that’s basically covered with dusty shards of glass.
