PETALING JAYA: Let’s reset and reduce our mistakes.

That’s the call of national Under-17 midfielder Aisy Al-Hakim Hasnizam, who wants his teammates to forget their 0-4 loss to Yemen and focus on beating Thailand in their second Group A game at the Pathum Thani Stadium in Bangkok today.

Aisy, who only came on as a substitute against Yemen in the 34th minute, said the team were a despondent lot in the dressing room after the big defeat but they have recovered after a day’s rest.“The loss to Yemen is over and done with. We must reset. We’ve recovered, did some video analysis of the game and we realise the mistakes we made,’’ said the Akademi Mokhtar Dahari Under-16 player.

“Yes, the defeat was disappointing. But if we look at how we played overall, it was still okay. If we had taken our chances well, the outcome would have been different,” he said. “But we made a lot of mistakes and the penalty we conceded killed us. I believe we’re at the same level with Thailand. If we can play with confidence and reduce our mistakes, we have a chance to win.”

Osmera also confirmed that centreback Farish Danish Mohd Asrul will not be fit for the Thailand clash after suffering a concussion in the Yemen game.to our Premium Plan for an ad-free and unlimited reading experience!
