The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) may challenge the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in investigating alleged crimes committed in the conduct of illegal drugs operations during the administration of former President Duterte.

“The OSG is considering several options, such as challenging the jurisdiction of the ICC/admissibility of the case, or continuing to leave our lines of communication with the ICC open,” Guevarra said on Monday, July 18. Guevarra noted that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has yet to discuss the case thoroughly with anyone. He said that while the alleged crimes were committed during the previous administration, there is a need for the for the OSG to address the issue.
