Original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Marg Helgenberger shares a glimpse at Catherine Willows' return ahead of her appearance in CSI: Vegas season 2. Helgenberger portrayed the crime scene investigator across twelve seasons of the original CBS crime drama and made an appearance in a milestone episode in season 14. While the original series came to a close after season 15, the universe now lives on in the sequel show CSI: Vegas.
Beginning as a lab technician under William Petersen's Gil Grissom, Helgenberger's Willows would grow across her career as an investigator, becoming a supervisor before departing for a position as an FBI agent in CSI season 12. Helgenberger would reprise the role for the series' 300th episode in October 2013, as well as in the series finale. However, that wouldn't be the end of her time in the franchise.
