Conservative commentator Joel Jammal has raised more than $70,000 in donations to fight a legal claim from a politician which has since been settled.
The 26-year-old Oatlands man – who has registered Turning Point’s address at Parkville, Victoria – became popular on social during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when heafter claiming he lost his job in construction because of the pandemic policies.
“This particular lawsuit, it’s a big one … I try to be people’s voice because they do not feel that they’re being represented in the parliament, they do not feel like they’re being represented in the media or in the establishment, and unfortunately that does come with significant costs.” “The lawsuit was settled out of court, the conditions of which must remain confidential under the terms of the settlement. The fundraising was stopped as a result of the settlement,” he said.Jammal has recently taken down his GiveSendGo page and the video calling for support.
