Order Nigerian Army to release abducted editor – IPI urges President Tinubu

The Nigerian National Committee of the International Press Institute, IPI Nigeria, has called on President Bola Tinubu to direct the military authorities to produce the abducted FirstNews Editor, Segun Olatunji.

IPI also urged the president to activate the powers of his office as Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces to order the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, to order the release of the editor who was abducted from his home in Lagos 12 days ago.

That has triggered speculations among journalists and human rights activists around the world that the Nigerian military may be keeping some vital information away from the public concerning the journalist's safety.
