Optum Global Solutions continues to inspire with its CSR program, Project GIVE. For several years, the company has organized a series of volunteering initiatives for its employees. Know more:

“Optum in the Philippines is committed to strengthening our partnership with the SOS Children’s Villages through more sustainable employee volunteer programs that give our people many more ways of helping children in the communities that our businesses are home to.” shared Darwin Mariano, Optum’s VP for External Affairs. Last July 25 and 30, Optum employees visited the SOS Children’s Villages in Cebu and Manila to turn over a 2 million peso grant to support the organization’s various health and education initiatives around the country. The funds will be put towards the purchase of medical equipment and learning devices for the children living in these villages, and will also serve as additional support for the other programs of the organization.

The SOS Children’s Villages in the Philippines currently support over 1,500 families of orphaned, abandoned, and neglected Filipino children. The families are spread out across eight different locations in the country, and the Cebu village specifically had reached out to Optum for support to purchase health equipment for their clinics and learning devices for the children.

“At Optum, we believe that everyone deserves the best healthcare services. In our commitment to providing this for as many communities as possible, we’ve chosen to continue to provide support for organizations that share similar advocacies such as the SOS Children’s Villages. We want to help ensure that the children under their care live safe, healthy lives and grow up with as many opportunities as possible,” shared Optum’s Vice President for Human Capital Rain Tan.

The spirit of volunteerism in Optum is one that runs deep within the company’s culture, involving people from various departments and backgrounds. With the success of their projects so far, Optum’s community outreach initiatives will see further expansion and will impact many more communities in the coming new year.
