MTS’ initial assertion that Figueroa was fired over her performance — unrelated to Fletcher’s abuse of power — was undercut by its awful initial response to the scandal.
Fletcher needs to resign so the discussion can fully turn to how to replace him. Too much of the current conversation surrounds the timing of his departure. While Supervisorhas called for Fletcher’s immediate resignation and Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer said she would “support and welcome” it, board Chair Nora Vargas and Supervisor Joel Anderson have not.
