HISD has endured under the cloud of being taken over by the Texas Education Agency because of the persistent underperformance of some of our schools. While two HISD campuses still face possible intervention based on how they perform this coming school year, the district is dedicating significant resources, personnel and support through its RISE cohort to accelerate academic achievement at those schools.

This is real, tangible progress that is a testament to the incredible work our educators, staff, students and families have done through a global pandemic to ensure our students continue to learn and grow despite the obstacles.
