The move to have only a one-day sitting of the Dewan Rakyat has attracted criticism from the opposition.
PETALING JAYA: The Dewan Rakyat’s much anticipated one-way sitting next Monday will see only one item on the agenda: the royal address by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Dewan Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusoff said he was informed of the changes by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. The new schedule sees the simultaneous opening of the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara on May 18. There will be no sittings.Opposition leaders have criticised the move to limit the Dewan Rakyat sitting to a single day.
