Doireann announced she was leaving RTE at the end of the month after five years at the station.
RTE star Doireann Garrihy has laughed off an online troll who called her the “most irritating and unfunny person on radio”.
She said: “So I don’t go on Twitter because it’s just not a nice place, but when the podcast is back I like to upload clips. So I just logged back in to my Twitter to kind of get ready post clips, and this is the latest tweet that’s been sent to me.“Delighted to hear you’ve left 2FM,” the comment, from someone with the username 'Peter', began. “I never listened to you but if I was stuck in a waiting room or shop and your show was on it p***ed me off so much.
Doireann took the comment in stride, appearing to take it in humour rather than upset — joking “thank you Peter. Thank you for the feedback. Did you enjoy the sunshine this weekend? How’s the wife? How’s the life?”"This is 32! A weekend well spent in West Cork. Thank you all for the birthday love," Doireann wrote to her followers.
