Police say the haul, one of the largest-ever in Australian history to be intercepted, was coordinated by a global organised crime group that used Canada as a launch pad.
"The joint investigation commenced in December 2022, when the Canada Border Services Agency identified illicit drugs in a shipment destined for Melbourne. Hill said "unfortunately Australians have this insatiable appetite for illicit drugs", making us "an incredibly lucrative market for organised crime".
