Ronald Butler was released from jail Wednesday under intensive supervision that includes wearing an ankle monitor and daily in-person reporting.

WILLIAMSPORT - The father of one of the two women accused of intentionally starving to death two young Lycoming County sisters has been released from jail on nominal bail.

The allegations against Butler, who is charged with endangering the welfare of children and obstruction in child abuse cases, contend he was aware of the abuse, did nothing to prevent it and lied to a children and youth caseworker. Ronald Butler’s wife, Michele 49, whose charges include third-degree murder, is accused of knowing the girls were being starved and abused and did nothing to stop it, providing false information to a Children and Youth Services caseworker and concealing their deaths.
