The killing is the 95th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 96 homicides in the city.
About 11:50 p.m. Tuesday a 31-year-old man was shot in the chest in the 7900 block of International Boulevard, authorities said.
About 10:29 p.m. Tuesday a 34-year-old man was shot in the torso in the 8900 block of MacArthur Boulevard.
