Study also found that more than half of all homeowners don’t know the BER grade of their homes

More than a third of homeowners can’t afford to increase the energy efficiency of their homes, according to new research by Savills Ireland.

The study of 1,000 people found that 34 per cent can’t afford to make their properties more energy efficient while 60 per cent don’t know the building energy rating - a valuation which measures a property’s energy efficiency - of their homes.
